AKA categorist actions.

The Merriam-Webster dictionary definition of discrimination is:

  • a : the act, practice, or an instance of discriminating categorically rather than individually
  • b : prejudiced or prejudicial outlook, action, or treatment <racial discrimination>

In the conceptual framework of categorism, bigotry is categorism done through acts, especially acts of mistreating people based on categorization.

Together with prejudice and bigotry, discrimination is one of the three archetypical facets of categorism. See also From categorization to categorism.

Note that there are many different definitions of "discrimination". One such discrimination is "any act that violates a law against discrimination". This particular form of discrimination is a facet of categorism, known as illegal discrimination.
