Exploitation

In Young's Five Faces of Oppression, Exploitation is presented as oppression through systematically transferring power and resources from one group to another. The exploitation is not only a matter of the transfers themselves, but also a matter of social structures that builds on the exploitation, depends on the exploitation or justifies the exploitation. The same group can be exploited in several ways at once. For example in traditional American culture women are not only expected to support the lives and careers of their husbands, but also confined to jobs that give low status and low pay – yet the men doing their careers would not be able to do so unless these “lesser” jobs were done.

This is a facet of categorism.
